About Us
At Social Care Wales, we provide leadership and expertise in social care and early years in Wales. Our vision is to make a positive difference to care and support for children, adults, and their families and carers.
To achieve this, we lead on developing and regulating the social care workforce, service improvement, and data and research to improve care. Through our quality assurance work, we support social work educators in both education and practice settings, ensuring the highest level of training for the next generation of social workers.
Our new expert reference group will act as a critical friend to Social Care Wales, helping us embed lived experience in decision-making and strengthen our commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
We are now looking for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Reference Group Members to join us on an advisory basis.
You must be based in the UK to apply for this role.
The Role
As an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Reference Group Member, you will help ensure that diverse voices and lived experiences are reflected in the decisions made within Social Care Wales impacting social care and early years in Wales.
You will act as a critical friend to Social Care Wales, offering advice and insight on equality, diversity, and inclusion matters.
Your feedback on policies, projects, and equality impact assessments will guide our approach and strengthen our commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
You will:
- Attend 3–4 online meetings per year
- Participate in discussions and collaborative working
- Support our ongoing equality, diversity, and inclusion goals
Your employer will invoice us the cost of your attending meetings, so you will continue to be paid by them in the normal way. You will need your employer’s permission to apply for the role.
About You
To be considered as an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Reference Group Member, you will need:
- Experience working in social care or early years and childcare in Wales
- Registration with Social Care Wales (if working in social care)
- Experience advocating for anti-discrimination in your work or personal life
- A commitment to inclusion, respect, and continuous learning
